We invite you to join us at our first annual Spring Luncheon Celebration to recognize our corpsmembers’ accomplishments over the last year. Some of those achievements included: removing 6,622 illegally dumped tires from reservoirs, parks & open spaces, enhancing over 20 parks, recycling 84 tons of beverage containers, installing six solar photovoltaic systems on low-income homes and graduating over 150 seniors with a high school diploma.
The Solar Installation Career Technical Education Program was established to meet the burgeoning solar industry in California. The program’s focus is to train 18-26 year olds in the practices of solar installation, energy efficiency issues, and skills development leading to an industry recognized credential. The program enables these young adults to gain hands-on installation experience, while pairing them with industry professionals to install residential and commercial systems for on-the-job training.
